Sailing Solo to Catalina Harbor (December 2023)

In this episode, we set off during a gale warning and sail single-handed to Catalina Harbor on the back side of Catalina Island. Andy from @sailingsole joins as buddy boat. We have decent NE winds which carry us to the West side of Catalina Island before the winds settle down. Two whales are spotted en route. Winds build back up to 20 knots overnight in the anchorage. The return trip has light winds and is relatively uneventful, but we cross paths and pick up a number of balloons on the return home.
