Sailing Home: My Last-Minute Dash to Shelter Island! ???

1,340 Visninger· 22/05/24

As a Canadian in Washington, I had to exit the U.S. prior to the end of May. My friend Rick, aka @WhatsNext-acrc, hooked me up with a perfect spot to park Vie Sauvage on Shelter Island, right on the Fraser River. Saying goodbye to Point Roberts was a heartfelt moment. Since last August, that dock has been the backdrop to so many memories. It's a place that will always hold a special spot in my heart. Our game plan? Sail to Steveston, BC, for a night's rest, then catch the ideal tide up the Fraser River the next afternoon. Conditions weren't perfect for a full sail, and we'll dive into why. But, we made it to Shelter Island, and that's where the real adventure begins! This is about to get good! I want to thank the Patreon subscribers for all of their help.
