Sailing Eriskay: 47 Knots at ANCHOR! Scariest anchoring yet

Episode 84: Sailing Koufinisi to Despotiko This episode Cass and Shelly continue their adventures as they set sail from Koufinisi to Despotiko. This week visits a 36 hour experience at anchor when we had a 47 knot Meltemi blast through our anchorage. We were expecting an estimated 30 maybe 35 knots of wind. We ended up dragging over 450 feet before anchoring again in another spot. This all while we hit our high of 47 knots. While Shelly was anchoring the windlass gave out and we lost a winch handle as it was ripped out of her hands and the full chain ran free until it hit the rode. This was our experience.
