Sailing Disaster - 50 Knot Gust, Shredded Sails & Steering Cable Snapped

We decided to leave St Lucia on Sunday and that required getting PCR tests, booking out, filling up with duty-free fuel, and heading north. The weather wasn't great but for us to meet the deadline for PCR test results we had to go. The trip was supposed to be a 28 hour non-stop sail doing around 180 miles. We didn't even make it 40 miles.
