Leaving Pirates and thunders behind for now. Piracy in Panama is nothing new and it's pretty naive to belive anything else. However this time my experience is the piracy have come down a bit from last time I was here but the corruption is worse than ever. Guess this is just how Panama is and always gonna be. I choose to share how terrible it is and giving you a good reason to use agent instead. Everyone try to hustle you in Panama, no matter what. However having agreed price from an agent at least you now how much you gonna be robbed for the total service. Being in a marina in Colon district is like being a sitting duck waiting to have your boat fried by lightning. So I just wanted to get out of there ASAP. Before full-time sailing, I have sailed several seasons in the Med prior to this, and obviously also in Scandinavia. I have been traveling the world before and have also been an active regatta sailor for decades. I had my first sailboat at age 7 and have been sailing ever since.
