Sailing Tunisia to Malta across the Mediterranean. Will it go to plan? This is a good long video of the crossing from Tunisia to Malta. We had been watching a cold front moving North East across the region and this would make a fantastic downwind or aft of the beam run to Malta. But Mr stupid here forgot that you have to checkout with the Garda Civil from Tunisia 24 hours before you leave. We managed to get checked out but the customs and police always want to check your boat before you leave and this with the extra paper work put us 2 hours behind schedule and we sort of missed the wind only catching it really for the first few hours and then in dribs and drabs during the crossing. Fishing vessels in this area are a law unto themselves and in both crossings there and back we encountered them running without AIS and not answering their radios even using "Vessel in position". Still we made it and it was not too bad a sail doing the 170 miles in 28 hours. This video is the story of this journey. Enjoy the video.
