The humorous metric that you should add a foot of boat length for every year that you get older seems to have escaped Victorian-turned-Tasmanian Chris Dare. Chris once owned the TP52 Audi Centre Sydney, but these days he can be seen at the helm of the GP42 Ambition. Chris bought the boat in March this year but has wasted no time at all in getting up to speed, training with his crew in testing Tasmanian conditions, as preparation for their race south. He had sworn off doing another Hobart after his 10th edition in 2009, but says that his son Lockie twisted his arm to give it another go. The team will be joined by talented up and coming navigator Clare Costanzo.
