🇫🇷 Originaire des Hautes-Alpes et né dans une famille de skieurs de haut niveau, le parcours de Romain était tracé d’avance. Pourtant dès l’âge de 15 ans, Romain sait que sa destinée est ailleurs : il veut courir les océans. Parvenant à monter un projet en mini 6.50 en 1999, une tempête le cueille dans le golfe de Gascogne et le drame est évité de justesse. Ne s’arrêtant jamais sur un échec, il redouble d’efforts et intègre le Pôle Finistère de Port-La-Forêt puis le circuit IMOCA. En 2024, pour son 3e Vendée Globe, Romain ambitionne un top 10. 🇬🇧 Born in the Hautes-Alpes, a mountainous region, into a family of high-level skiers, Romain's career path was mapped out in advance. However, from the age of 15, Romain knew that his destiny was elsewhere: he wanted to race the oceans. He managed to set up a project in a mini 6.50 in 1999, but a storm picked him up in the Bay of Biscay and the tragedy was narrowly avoided. As he never stops after a failure, he redoubles his efforts and joins the Pôle Finistère training centre in Port-La-Forêt and then the IMOCA circuit.
