Rencontre avec Conrad Colman, MS Amlin | Vendée Globe 2024

🇫🇷 Conrad Colman est né à Auckland d'un père américain et d'une mère néo-zélandaise et a passé sa première année sur un voilier dans le Pacifique. Après avoir fait ses études dans le Colorado et monté une entreprise de fabrication de vélos en titane, il décide de poursuivre son rêve de large et part s'installer en Europe. Il débute avec la Mini-Transat 2009 puis poursuit en Class40 avec la Route du Rhum et un tour du monde en double qu'il remporte. Puis il rejoint l'IMOCA et dispute le Vendée Globe 2016 qu'il termine malgré un dématage au large du Portugal. Il devient le 1er marin à boucler la course avec 0 émission. Un défi qui lui tient à coeur à nouveau en 2024. 🇬🇧 Conrad Colman was born in Auckland to an American father and a New Zealand mother, and spent his first year on a sailing boat in the Pacific. After studying in Colorado and setting up a business manufacturing titanium bicycles, he decided to follow his dream of offshore sailing and moved to Europe. He made his debut in the 2009 Mini-Transat, then went on to compete in the Class40 Route du Rhum and a double-handed round-the-world race, which he won. He then moved up to the IMOCA class and competed in the 2016 Vendée Globe, which he finished after dismasting off Portugal. He became the 1st sailor to complete the race with 0 emissions.
