It may have seemed like Sotogrande threw up a week of perfect conditions for the 2016 RC44 World Championship, but, on the water it was shifty in extremis with a wind ranging from very light to over 20 knots. As a result, none of the 11 international teams were impervious to high scores resulting in one of the closest fought World Championships to date.
