Easy dinghy launch and retrieval was a clear objective from the earliest stages of the Pegasus 67 project. The system is built to carry two adults safely and dry, with a hard-bottom dinghy of at least 3,2 m (3,5 m preferred) and a transom-mounted 20 hp motor. Operations: a closed-loop rope runs through a Harken flat winder, operating in both directions, launching from the garage and retrieving into it, with 250 kg of pulling force. The flat winder motor is controlled by a remote worn around the operator's neck. Operation Steps: - Open the platform. - Apply the slip with rollers, stored above the dinghy in the garage, onto the platform. - Install the small block, already on the rope loop, onto the padeye on the platform. - Push the LAUNCH button on the remote controller and the dinghy will start moving out of the garage. - Help the dinghy keep direction as it comes out of the garage. - Once the dinghy is out of the garage and still on the platform and slip, take the air pump tube hanging in the garage and fill the bow section tube; this takes around 30 seconds. Pump control is on the remote controller. - Disconnect the loop from the dinghy's bow padeye and push the dinghy into the water. - Remove the dinghy slip from the transom and store it in the dedicated space in the garage. - Move the dinghy alongside the transom platform and fold out the engine.
