Our Covid Experience, like something out of Gilligan's Island! (Calico Skies Sailing, Ep. 60)

Our experience during covid sounds like something out of Gilligan's Island; twelve strangers find themselves isolated on a deserted tropical island for months on end learning to survive and forging life long friendships in the process. Before the pandemic erupted we had planned to be in the remote Ragged Islands for only a week, so we weren’t concerned about being in a place without any facilities such as food stores and laundromats. In this episode, we show our routine in this this blissful little bit of paradise. We swim regularly, enjoying the incredible underwater world with it's pristine clear water and abundant sea life. We’ve been eating well thanks in combination to receiving mailboat orders and spearfishing. This episode's mailboat mission is especially exciting as we figure out how to order alcohol from a restaurant supply company in Nassau. Up until now, we've gotten by making moonshine but an ice cold beer is something to celebrate! The head of the Royal Bahamian Defense Force (RBDF) for the Ragged Island did us a huge favor and helped organize the delivery of medication from a doctor in Little Farmers in the Exumas. The RBDF guys took us on our first trip into town since the Pandemic hit and treated us to a couple beers in the local watering hole. It was great to meet and chat with the locals, no masks required since we've all been on total lockdown with no one entering or leaving! With our mailboat mission completed we get down to having some fun! We gather the C crew or TTYC members to sign an old sail as a memento of our time together.
