OHPRI x Thompson Middle School Virtual Field Trip: Mechanical Advantage!
On May 29, 2020, students at Newport's Thompson Middle School tuned in to a webinar aboard SSV Oliver Hazard Perry. Along with Dan O'Connor, our program director, and our crew Miranda, Eric, and Jackson, students learned about about simple machines and mechanical advantage as the crew used a pulley system to lift and transfer a ship's liferaft from the deck to the dock.
