ODYSSEY 2015 - Brazil : Stopover in Rio de Janeiro

Initiated by the Race for Water Foundation, the Race for Water Odyssey is an environmental expedition which aims to assess plastic pollution in the oceans. In the South Atlantic Ocean, the teams of the expedition stopped in Rio de Janeiro and interviewed local people to understand how pollution affects this part of the world, from an economical point of view among others. The Race for Water Foundation is dedicated to the preservation of the water and the oceans in particular. Today, seriously under threat from plastic pollution, it is imperative that this essential resource for life is protected.To prevent plastic waste from reaching the waterways and oceans by developing social models and business models that give value to plastic waste and hence encourage its collection.
