Nanaimo Twin Boathouse Underwater Drone Inspection

This underwater drone inspection was conducted with a Chasing M2 submersible, requested by the owner to assess the underwater condition prior to selling. The boathouse is located in Nanaimo, British Columbia, and features two 30 foot boat slips in one building along with a fully furnished suite on the top floor. It features a rare otter-deterring barrier in one of the slips, designed to prevent otters from entering the boathouse and fouling the boat and docks inside. This barrier also serves to protect the underside of a boat from growth, as it limits current and sunlight the two biggest factors for fostering sea life. Overall the underwater portion of the boathouse was found to be in excellent condition, with all of the heavy-duty styrofoam floats being intact with only moderate growth. Also all load-bearing sections of the structure were reinforced with sealed air-filled 55-gallon drums, also with only moderate growth.
