So orangutan is literally translated as "person of the forest." Orangutans are the only great apes of Asia and there was no way were were going to pass up seeing them while we were sailing in Indonesia. We left Starry Horizons in Kumai on the Indonesian side of Borneo in order to take a 2 night river tour deep into the rain forest of Tanjung Puting National Park. We were there for the orangutans, but we also saw lots of other wildlife, including several other types of monkeys and a night trek where we captured the only known footage of a Flat Headed Cat kitten in the wild.
