Marina Flores - Drone footage of Hurricane damage | Saga47swan Sailing

On our TransAt from St John's, Newfoundland, we made landfall after 9 days on Flores, the westernmost island of the Azores. We had been informed by Porto Azores that the marina was closed as it was badly damaged by the 2019 Hurricane Lorenzo. To visit marina Flores one most have calm weather as a big surge can set into marina. hence, Flores is very seldom possible to visit by yachts. The weather was perfect, when we reach Flores, so we decided to see. If we could find a berth or anchor. We managed to find a space , we rafted up on SY Julia from Holland.
