Specially decorated trains will be running through the scenic Staffordshire countryside. Once on board you can enjoy a range of themed treats as you discover a tea party that will delight all the family. Much–loved characters Alice, the Mad Hatter and the White Rabbit will be strolling through the train to talk to all the children, parents and grandparents. You can relax with a drink while the children enjoy a soft drink followed by a selection of delicious cakes. But don't get too comfortable as the Queen of Hearts is out on her Royal Train to inspect her subjects so behave or it will be "Off with your head". With colouring and face painting you will look the part too! Begin your journey from our Froghall or Cheddleton stations where you can enjoy hot and cold food from our Signals Tea Room, or gifts from Signals Souvenirs at Froghall. Ample free parking is available at both stations. With the court face painter who will be sure to make a fool out of you there is plenty to do off the train as well. Don't forget the station clown who will be sure to help you celebrate your un–birthday. What better way to enjoy Easter than visiting the Churnet Valley Railway for the Mad Hatter's Tea Party! The train trip lasts approximately 1 hour. Passengers can only leave the train from their originating station, where there will be activities to take part in both before and after your booked journey.
