When the current (second) owner purchased her in 2024, several smart upgrades were added including new cockpit clears, a solar array neatly fitted to the cabin top, a Code 0 prodder with updated running rigging, a diesel heater, and an additional plotter at the navigation table. The owner is very experienced and set the boat up to be self-sufficient, safe, and comfortable for cruising around Tasmania, with the option to head up the East Coast when the opportunity comes. The Lagoon 42 has been one of Lagoon’s most successful models ever produced, with hull #1000 recently leaving the factory in France. Designed by VPLP, the brief was to create a cruising catamaran with improved performance while still keeping the core Lagoon DNA. The rig was moved further aft, a more powerful sail plan was introduced, and a simple self-tacking jib was included. The result is a catamaran that’s safe, quick, and stylish on the water.
