Dick tells of the race in 1962 when a new, young Australian team faced the might of the New York Yacht Club and its defender weatherly. Sit frank Packer's gretel was a close contender and in a reaching race Mosbacker paused and Storrock and his crew pounced and surfed pass then to take the race and beat the defender for the first time in many challengers for the old mug. Dick's telling is compelling for all.
