The B&G equipment was on the old NMEA 0183 system and i wanted to replace it with a single NMEA 2000 multifunction display. But that meant replacing the controller with the ITC-5, replacing the display with the i-70 and replacing all of the transducers as well. This was the first time i'd upgraded to the NMEA 2000 system - replacing the old NMEA 0183 B&G stuff (sonic speed and depth and wind). Instead of trying to replace the B&G equipment bit by bit which would probably end up being just as expensive, I'm decided to replace it with the Raymarine T70216 package at 1500 euros. I could have got it a lot cheaper in the UK but we were in lockdown so I ordered it locally. In the box you'll find the ITC-5 unit the wind indicator the i-70 multi-function display various cables and the Airmar triducer (depth/speed/temperature). So the first job was to widen the thru-hull hole for the triducer to fit. The original hole was 4.5mm but it needed to be 5mm which meant taking the old housing out and putting a new one in - which is what this video is about. _______________ In Pt01 of this series I replaced the old depth transducers with the Airmar NMEA 2000 Intelligent Triducer. See Part 1 here: https://youtu.be/ZhXRcQvdLFE In Pt02 of this series I swapped out the old B&G mast head unit, for the Raymarine short arm wind vane transducer. See Part 2 here : https://youtu.be/XYX9GFcV8-8 In Pt03 of this series I replace the old B&G transducer controller with the Raymarine ITC-5 transducer controller, and also replacing the old B&G dials with a single Raymarine I70 multifunction display unit.
