For Kelly's, my brother's, AND my sister-in-law's birthdays we traveled down south to Hood River in Oregon. My brother's family had flown up from Los Angeles and we all stayed in an Airbnb with my parents and Shane's mom. This was Shane and I's first time there since we were probably 21 and my family's first time visiting. It was windy and got progressively hotter, but we were thankful to be in such a beautiful place. Airbnb was such a perfect way to be able to explore the area. We were able to stay right in town, all together, and be comfortable. The last time Shane and I were there we camped in a tent right next to a railroad. We'd wake up in the middle of the night thinking the train was coming straight for us. This time we slept in comfy beds with the kids with us. My favorite part of the trip (other than the enjoying making yummy food for our family and enjoying what they made) was being able to go paddleboarding at sunset on the Columbia River. The area was so dry. I'm sad to think of what the area went through during the fires over the month of August.
