There's a myth about Reagan kicking all the mental health patients out of their involuntary confinement. (this is untrue. repealing the 1980 mental health act did NOT undo decades or even years of mental health anything. The MHSA wasn't even implemented yet. So the myth grows- before reagan, no homeless, all the mentally deranged were perfectly happy in prisons. After reagan - millions of homeless, all mentally ill.
