Remember the bearing we replaced in Vigo — the one we hoped would stop the squeaking and remove the play? Yeah… it didn’t. And when we finally dug into it again, we realised the brand new €500 bearing missed 0,5-1 mm. Which coursed the same noise, same play and same headache. So we secured the rudder (yes, again… in the water), tapped the old bearing back in and found a shipyard in Lagos who could actually help us. Luckily, a yard took us in and made a new custom bearing in just one day. A VERY snug fit — but that’s what we wanted.
