It is the simplest race to explain and the hardest to do, the single handed non-stop Vendée Globe is renowned for being the toughest offshore race in the world. In a few weeks time 40 skippers will be heading off from the start in Les Sables d'Olonne on the west coast of France in the biggest and toughest single handed offshore race in the world.
