Fall Community Planting Day in Bowling Green

The Alliance for Downtown New York held its third annual Fall Community Planting Day event at Bowling Green on Saturday, October 23, 2010. More than 100 people who work in, live in, or were visiting Lower Manhattan dropped by to plant kale, tulip bulbs and other plants and to indulge in free cupcakes from Crumbs and cookies, juice and pumpkins from Whole Foods. The event was sponsored by the NYC Department of Parks & Recreation, NYC Partnerships for Parks, Community Board 1, NYC Council Member Margaret Chin, Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer, Whole Foods and Crumbs.
