Ep. 96 Why join a rally? Listen to seasoned sailors explain their views.

We discuss the main reasons to join a sailing rally, the different types of sailing rallies, and interview participants and organizers of the GLY World Odyssey 500 rally. The rally we will sail with is organized by Grande Large Yachting, a company that owns 5 different shipyards, and the rally was planned to celebrate the 500th anniversary of the first round the world by Ferdinand Magellan and Juan Sebastian El Cano 1519-1522. There are 32 boats in the rally and BioTrek is joining in Martinique, although most boats started in France and crossed the Atlantic Ocean together. The rally was planned with the help of Jimmy Cornell, founder of the ARC and renowned world cruiser.
