BioTrek is launched as we complete improvements for short-handed sailing – our new electric traveler and adding buttons to control all cockpit winches from the helm station. Pierre and his friend Ransom Morse use creative inspiration to find the best place to install a line -driver for the electric drive for our traveler, with discussions that started last summer, proceeded into the fall, and then were done early this spring. With button control for the traveler at the helm, we can now gybe from the helm station. Winter went fast but spring seems to have taken forever – but at least we are on our way to having BioTrek fully fitted out for short-handed sailing and for sailing away. 0:00 Into 1:32 What is a line driver? 1:52 Planning the installation 2:15 Pierre’s injury and recovery 3:15 Planning installation of the motor for the line driver 4:18 Winter to spring and launch 5:40 Discussion on electrical installation 6:48 Buttons for electric traveler and new winch buttons 7:29 Why we removed the winch for the dinghy. 8:09 Line driver motor instatallation 9:40 Electric traveler works! 10:13 Re-routing the dinghy lift lines 12:09 water tanks 12:17 Installation of lazy jack lines and sail bag 12:38 Problem with the deck-top winches 14:21 why new winch buttons were installed 14:45 Putting the genoa up MUSIC FROM EPIDEMIC SOUND A Bitter Love - Sven Karlsson (Intro music) Senseless Habit by Tomas Skledberg Morning Hike by Lindsay Abraham Memories of Sarah by Daniel Kaede Distant Fortune by Daniel Kaede Lost in Atlantis – Smartface (end music)
