It's a 39' Trimaran with a 23' Beam. It houses a Yanmar diesel and the whole boat needs a ton of TLC.....but that's what you can get for a $15k Jeep! I think we're sticking with the name "White Shark" This week we continued cleaning up and started peeling back the can of worms. Every drawer, cabinet, nook, and cranny had peanuts, pistachios, rat droppings, some sort of cotton or toilet paper ball.....and whole lot of junk. The plumbing is messed up. The electrical is dangerous and unprofessional. We're surprised it's still floating to be honest. We met some amazing people in our anchorage! Most have some sort of boat building skill that will definitely come to play when we undoubtedly get in over our heads. We think there's only about 5 boats in the entire anchorage that actually leave the dock. The rest are either being refitting by these talented people or just rotting away as ours was in it's previous lifetime. One guy in particular has stepped up and really been a huge relief to us. He seems to be extremely knowledgeable when it comes to boating and boat work. He funded and gathered a crew to help the previous owner rebuild what started as a 3' x3' section of the deck (where you step on) and it ended up being the entire starboard side and over 3/4 of the deck above it. Things went sour with them and they never really finished the job. Now that he see's we're serious about putting in the time, he likes us and has kind of taken us under his wings. He knew...well would see the previous 3 owners and how they were. We pretty much know exactly where we're sitting with it now. It's amazing what a little respect and appreciation could get you from the kind people of this earth. He is giving us the bilge pumps that he bought for Earindil but never put in and said that he wants to make sure we wire them in correctly. He says he's got extra marine grade electrical cable from doing his massive yacht as well as telling us he's going to send over his diesel mechanic and diver to double check things we're unsure about. He's got a list of products and some extras he's giving us and honestly just invaluable information. We need to figure out some way to thank him properly. Not a drinker, Not a smoker, Not a Meat eater....we're going to have to get creative! Any ideas? Follow Brittany, Shaun, and Cal as we give "White Shark" (formerly known as Earindil) a refit and make her seaworthy enough to cruise the ocean again!
