Eagle

** NOW SOLD ** Eagle was designed as an IOR race boat and was built and launched in time for the 1981 Sydney-Hobart race. Her beautiful huon pine hull is as good today as it was when the first plank was lovingly laid down thirty years ago. She was glass sheathed in 1995 and painted white but her golden huon interior is on display for all to see. The interior is finished in silver ash veneer. Joinery and trim is handmade mahogany and the cabin sole is silver ash on marine ply in-laid with mahogany strips. She has a solid lead keel fin and a semi-balanced rudder designed by Ben Lexcen and built from Kevlar and foam sandwich on a solid stainless shaft supported by a solid laminated timber skeg. Over the years she's been gentrified a little with the addition of comfortable beds and a saloon more befitting her pedigree rather than a bunch of wet brawny blokes on their way to Hobart. This classic yacht is one to really fall in love with. She's been beautifully maintained and all systems and equipment have been kept up to date and in working order.
