Our quest towards The Fastnet 2025 continues! In this episode we undertake our longest race ever on Mist. The Junior Offshore Group's (JOG) race weekend consisting of a course from Cowes to the Easterm Solent, turning around, passing Cowes and finishing at Yarmouth in the Deep Western Solent on day 1 was an exciting ride culminating in a long downwind spinnaker ride along the mainland shore. We were placing well until the spinnaker halyard was snagged when we went to drop on a tight reach, seeing us scoot off downwind and having to beat against a rapid ebbing tide to the leeward mark. Such is life. Our video sees us undertake the return race from Yarmouth back to Cowes, with a short hitch out of the Central Solent before another spinnaker finish. Two things to be taken from this trip: 1) We do not understand our sail wardrobe and what works best for Mist 2) We need a better microphone to cope with noise reduction in a breeze. Hope you enjoy the video as much as we did making it. #sailing #boating #yacht As ever, please comment on what you see fit.
