Connecting Our DIY Marine Display to NMEA 2000!
In the last video, we introduced our updated DIY Marine MFD project, showing how you can now build your own custom marine displays directly from a web browser, without needing VS Code or a separate development environment. Now it's time to connect it to the boat! In this episode, we're taking the next step and connecting our DIY marine display to an NMEA 2000 network. We'll look at the display itself, the cable needed to connect it, and how to hook everything up to an existing NMEA 2000 network on board. The aim is to make DIY marine electronics more accessible, allowing you to build your own custom displays and use information from your boat's existing instrumentation network. ⚓ In this video: Our DIY Marine MFD display The cable used to connect to NMEA 2000 Connecting the display to the boat's NMEA 2000 network Getting the hardware connected Taking the next step towards custom NMEA 2000 marine instrumentation This is part of our ongoing DIY Marine MFD series, exploring how to build affordable, customisable marine displays for your own boat.
