I have been obsessing over owning a sawmill for several years now. One of my original plans was to build my own mill from steel stock and engineered components, and this is something that I will likely still do...but...when I stumbled accidentally upon the Central Machinery band saw mill from Harbor Freight, and after researching the product thoroughly, I was convinced that it made terrific sense to give it a try. It arrived by tractor trailer and in this video, I un-box it, assemble it, demonstrate it cutting a log, and give my initial redneck review. After only about 15 or 20 minutes of using it, I am thoroughly impressed and would highly recommend this mill to anyone needing a solid, accurate mill for home or hobby use. I would also like to suggest that you take a look at Texas Ben's custom built mill here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-eqwZb4D9r8 If you want to brave the wilds of building your own, take a look at the plans here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Sawmill-Plans-to-build-a-heavy-duty-band-sawmill-to-cut-wood-for-lumber-/261365147773?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3cda93a87d I hope you enjoy this video and find it helpful.
