Celebrating First Responders in our own boating way

This week we needed to get the heck out of the house. Deb joined a small online group that organized a socially distant, respectful and celebratory way to thank first responders, show support for our town, country and each other. Living in a water community, we were able to arrange a boat parade through residential canals (where the public can't gather) but rather residents can stand in their own socially isolated back yards and see the boat parade go by. We waived at each other, played music, yelled greetings and salutations across the water ways all while maintaining no less than 50 feet of distance. We also took a nice little sunset boat ride and had dinner out on the water while enjoying the lovely sunset. We saw some excitement in our canal while they were replacing a concrete seawall and we caught 7 catfish all in a crab trap. What the heck was that all about?
