Catamaran Yacht Maintenance on PILAR - Jabsco Water Pump Noise Reduction Project - EP24

We had grown tired of the noise from the Jabsco water pump so decided to see what we could do to make it quieter. Stephen being a 30 year veteran and expert in the industrial pump business, knew that the type of pump being a simple diaphragm pump was going to be noisy regardless, however with a little sound proofing, we thought we could at least make it a little more bearable. Anyone that has a pump like this knows that you do whatever you can to not use the water! You let only a trickle out of the faucet in hopes that you can avoid at least one pump cycle to refill that reservoir and maintain the prime. We think we succeeded a little - not perfect, but at least an improvement. We ended up putting a different more expensive pump in and now it is super quiet. Future video on that coming. It's the Marco UP6 E12/24V , 6.9GPM, Self Priming. It was worth the extra money.
