This is a great spot to stop to get fuel and other necessities that you might be in need of. There are 3 stores on the Island that are within walking distance of each other and between the 3 of them, you will most likely find what you are looking for. Prices of items found in Nassau and other main island grocery stores tend to be more expensive than in the U.S. and when you are in the out islands of The Bahamas, those prices can easily double sometimes triple. We were not in need of many food items and feel that we provisioned our boat well before leaving on our trip, but one thing that we did underestimate were the snacks and comfort foods like chips and cookies. We had planned on stocking up in Florida before leaving, but simply forgot. Some food items that we wish we had brought more of include: Canned vegetables, cookies, chips, potatoes, cereal, chocolate and almond milk. We found it convenient that most of the stores we visited had a selection of fresh vegetables and fruits that added to our supply of food we already had aboard Turtle for meals. We are also glad that we got the chance to experience what shopping in the out islands of The Bahamas was like, and we are happy to have helped support the local grocery stores in this incredibly beautiful place. Once all of our chores were done for the day, we took the opportunity to snorkel the Thunderball Grotto Cave again! This cave is so unique and has really captured our love for adventure!
