We have sailed for seven weeks to reach the most southerly islands in French Polynesia - the truly remote archipelago of the Gambiers. But it's not all easy - shallow anchorages, shifting winds, and we're really far away from civilisation if anything goes wrong. But when all goes well, this part of the world is one of the most beautiful places we've ever been with turquoise waters, sandbars stretching for miles and wonderfully friendly people who farm the land and welcome us to their shores.
