Alinghi Win the 31st America's Cup in 2003

Sixteen years ago, Alinghi made history in the 31st America’s Cup by winning the America’s Cup on their first attempt and returning the Cup to Europe for the first time in 152 years. Alinghi easily defeated eight other Challengers from six countries including Oracle’s USA-76 in the Challenger Selection Series final. Their dominance continued in the America’s Cup, and while glimpses of some of the closest racing in years were seen in Race 2, Alinghi completed a clean sweep by defeating Emirates Team New Zealand 5-0
