A glorious day at Rutland Sailing Club sailing with fellow RCSSC members. A quick email "Fancy a Sail" and a good response. In the morning Mike Simmons, John Cranwell Ward and myself Dave Grundy, rigged and launched Squib Satyr - who looks very good in her newly painted decks and hull and new decking. It was just sooooo good to get back on the water, even if we could have done with more wind. We sailed up the south leg with variable winds - taking turns to helm. The wind dropped and with the forecast for winds to pick up, we agreed to take an early lunch, watch the racing and enjoy the sunshine. The forecast was right - the wind started to pick up, so we headed out for a quick sail with John helming before a crew Change with Steve Glen joining us. We enjoyed an afternoon with a decent breeze (sometimes dropping - hence the deck scrubbing) and sailed across to Whitwell, towards the dam head and then back towards RSC, taking turns on the helm. Great to sail in good company. Looking forward to the next sail.
