1100 mile Offshore Passage; Vigo, Spain to Gran Canaria. Yachtmaster Ocean qualifying passage[Ep 25]
A beautiful sailing passage with Rubicon3. Departing Vigo, Spain and stopping at Baiona, Spain before sailing offshore to Las Palmas, Gran Canaria. A total of 1100 nautical miles. We were in S/Y Bluejay, a 60 ft Clipper Yacht, and were a crew of 12, including our amazing skipper and first mate. A first proper ocean passage for me and I loved it. All weathers from flat calm to gale force 9. Our fantastic crew worked so well together; sailing, cooking, cleaning, navigating, enjoying music, poetry and conversation. Lots of fun and laughs and wonderful memories. This was a RYA Yachtmaster Ocean qualifying passage and those trying to achieve this were navigating through celestial navigation [sextant] and dead reckoning. Thanks for watching. ЁЯШК
