Tour around our Outremer 5x We have a 4 cabin layout with 2 showers and 2 toilets. We have been sailing for the last 3 months and we have not come across one sailing vessel as fast as the outremer 5X. This catamaran was set up specifically for racing, so its a vessel above our ability at this time, but we are learning more and more each day. When we we searching for what type of boat to buy I was very hesitant due to the fact that we have had little experience on any type of boat. We looked at Lagoon catamarans, leopard catamarans, Bali catamarans, and many other brands, but we would always gravitate back to the Outremer. Inspired by Sailing La Vagabonde, as we watched their YouTube channel week after week for a few years and to hear of their experiences with Outreamer, we knew Outremer would be the best bout catamaran for our family. Here is a link to their latest YouTube video https://youtu.be/y-YpOdzieTU They seriously have been a massive inspiration to me. With no sailing experience they have definitely made things happen. The only other catamaran I wish we would have looked into was the HH. They look amazing, but still to this day I have not been on one. Their are not many performance oriented catamarans, so we are glad we found one. When looking to buy a catamaran you look for comfort, as its going to be your new home. but we are a 60 foot catamaran where a 40 foot lagoon probably has the same amount of living space. The only difference is in light wind the outremer will sail, where the lagoon will be motoring. The boat itself has been incredible with all the carbon fiber build it is one of the fastest causing catamarans built. We are grateful to be about to learn to sail on such a fabulous vessel. right now we are putting on a new generator Piccolo 5, our solar is works great however every once in a while we need just a little more boost. so we are buying a peace of mind. Sailing on a catamaran and a monohull can be different experiences, as they have different characteristics and design features. Catamarans are generally wider and more stable than monohulls, which makes them a good choice for those who are looking for a smoother and more comfortable sailing experience. They also tend to have more space on deck and below deck, which can be a major advantage for those who value comfort and want to use their boat for longer trips or for living aboard. Monohulls, on the other hand, are typically faster and more maneuverable than catamarans. (Excluding performance Catamarans, as we pass most people.) They are often favored by sailors who enjoy the challenge of sailing in more difficult conditions and who appreciate the classic look of a traditional sailing vessel. Additionally, monohulls are often better at handling heavy winds and rough seas, which can make them more suitable for experienced sailors. Ultimately, the choice between a catamaran and a monohull will depend on your personal preferences and the type of sailing you plan to do. Some sailors prefer the stability and comfort of a catamaran, while others enjoy the speed and handling of a monohull. It's important to consider your own needs and sailing style when making a decision, and to try out different types of boats if possible to determine which is right for you.
