The Endeavour 42 is a spacious and comfortable yacht that you could easily live aboard. We were initially drawn to the model because of the center cockpit design, as well as the size and layout. This boat was named Cleopatra and called Clearwater her home port. Knowing that we'd never buy that specific boat, we figured we may be able to buy one that's in decent shape and refit it ourselves. I've been on the look out for E42s for sale that were more reasonably priced. When I saw the craigslist listing for this boat, I knew we had to at least take a look. Both Randi and I are glad we toured this boat, because for some reason we didn't see it. We aren't in love with the E42. I think seeing an E42 that's not in immaculate and upgraded condition opened our eyes to show us the boat really isn't anything special... at least for us. I think I fell in love with Cleopatra's upgrades, not the actual boat model. Another reason for not loving the E42 is that it's not regarded as a bluewater cruiser. Celebrating X-mas with my newfound friends, fellow Norwegian Rune from S/Y Vesper and the British couple Jim and Cora from S/V Edna May. I am serving Lutefisk and Pinnekjøtt to my Brittish friends and have a wonderful BBQ on their boat on X-mas day. From wikipedia: Lutefisk is dried whitefish (normally cod, but ling and burbot are also used) treated with lye. The first step is soaking the stockfish in cold water for five to six days (with the water changed daily). The saturated stockfish is then soaked in an unchanged solution of cold water and lye for an additional two days. The fish swells during this soaking, and its protein content decreases by more than 50 percent, producing a jelly-like consistency. When this treatment is finished, the fish (saturated with lye) is caustic, with a pH of 11–12. To make the fish edible, a final treatment of yet another four to six days of soaking in cold water (also changed daily) is needed.
