While I’ve been away visiting Japan’s longevity hotspots and gathering field notes for my book, Wahine has been quietly waiting at the dock. But apparently not alone. Some local visitors decided to make themselves at home, so on this trip away, I’ve recruited a new crew member to keep watch — 24/7. It’s not the most experienced sailor… but it does a good job keeping the crows away. It has been a very long time since my brothers and I all went sailing. This was the perfect day with gusty winds that forced us to put two reefs in. We sailed the Hooper Island Lighthouse run and made it back no worse for the wear. And none of us got in trouble . . . , at least not that we know of. Subscribe and share the adventure! Das Maritime Alphabet (auch NATO-Alphabet genannt) soll das Buchstabieren schwer verständlicher oder seltener Wörter erleichtern. Dazu legt eine Buchstabiertafel für jeden Buchstaben das zu verwendende Wort fest. Jeder Segler sollte das Maritime Alphabet beherrschen.
