Just as we were about to set sail here in Greece from the island Poros, our wind sensor suddenly stopped working. No wind direction, no wind speed. Not ideal when you're navigating open waters. Maybe it had been a bird? Or sun and salt damage? Or just one strong gust too many. Whatever the cause, I had to climb up the mast, attached to a line and helped with a winch. And ofcourse the new windmeter! So up I went — 22 meters high at the top of our catamaran’s mast and the camera rolling! I filmed the whole thing. This was my reaction to the first attempt at launching Freddie, after over a week of waiting past the day we were told we would be launched… We put our lives on hold to get her ready and to show up for this, not to mention getting our hopes way up that we would finally see her off land and back where she belongs, in the water… My heart was hurting and I felt frustrated… but tried to focus on positives. 🌌 14 juillet en mer : ma première nav de nuit ✨ Après une première tentative un peu agitée (cf. la vidéo précédente 😅), on est retournées en mer… et là, tout avait changé : plus de vent, une mer calme, un ciel clair. C’était comme si la Méditerranée avait décidé de nous offrir un moment suspendu 💙 🎆 C’était ma toute première navigation de nuit et j’ai adoré.
