On Sunday, 9 October 2016 racing was cancelled at Royals as gale force northerlies caused damage around Melbourne and the RYCV Marina. Winds of up to 46kts gusting to almost 60kts were recorded at Fawkner Beacon and peaked around 2.00pm, which resulted in several mooring lines letting go as yachts lurched around in the wind and up to one metre waves that lashed against the marina. But with Kazza's knack for organizing, Dan's mastery with the welder, and my nerd-mode fully activated, we manage to come up with something super functional that looks pretty dang sexy! The helm station is one of those spots on the boat that can really make or break how fun, comfortable, and practical a boat is to sail, so it's something that we've put soooo much thought into.
