I grew up sailing the local waters of the Patuxent River and the Chesapeake Bay, where we stood constant watch for other boats, crab pots, and debris in the water. Sometimes it is hard to relax. It is not until you go off the coast that you really come to appreciate the peace and solitude of sailing and the sea. We got off the boat to do a 2 min Trash Run and these puppies think we left the! This is how excited they are when we leave the boat and come back. Usually they are left down below since it it was just a trash run, we figured they would be fine up top for a minute.

Le compositeur norvégien Johan Halvorsen (1864-1935) a écrit sa Passacaille et Sarabande en sol mineur avec variations sur un thème de Haendel pour violon et alto ou violoncelle en 1897. Il s’est inspiré d’un segment de la Suite pour clavecin en sol mineur, vol. 1, n° 6, HWV 432, publiée en 1720 par le compositeur germano-britannique Georg Friedrich Haendel (1685-1759).
