I grew up sailing the local waters of the Patuxent River and the Chesapeake Bay, where we stood constant watch for other boats, crab pots, and debris in the water. Sometimes it is hard to relax. It is not until you go off the coast that you really come to appreciate the peace and solitude of sailing and the sea. 😱⛵ One more degree... and the mast would have hit the water. Several racing yachts battle through towering waves in heavy wind. 🌊 One yacht launches off a steep swell. 💥 It lands hard. 💨 The mast whips sideways under extreme pressure. Crew members instinctively duck as the boat rolls farther and farther. For a split second, it looks like the mast will slam into the sea.
