We recently navigated the uncharted Kinabatangan River, aka 560 km of wild, winding waterways home to monkeys, elephants and other rare and endangered wildlife. The surface looks calm, but at night, those glowing eyes of giant crocs in the torchlight remind you who really owns this place... very splash had our crew looking twice! I don't often post other designers boats, but I make an exception here. Russell kindly asked me out for a short sail just before the start of the Race to Alaska (R2ak). It was ideal conditions for his boat and Russell sailed it perfectly. No real surprise considering the miles he has done on the boat. Certainly the best proa in the world (I have sailed a couple of others by world famous designers that were no match for Jzerro). Speed was steady in the mid teens.
