Nick organised everything with the brokers and the charter companies and the people on the ground to go see the boats. In one trip he stopped at three different marinas and basically in a weekend he had shown me, took video tours of the boats. Very thorough went through every compartment with me taking videos. Showed everything. I felt like I knew the boat before I even showed up after we made the decision. The drone shots of the rigging were fantastic. We nixed one boat right off the top. Just wasn't interested in it. Too much, too much going on with it. And then it was a real close tie between the two remaining boats. La Gran Ruta del Íbero empezó el 17 de noviembre del 2012 partiendo desde el puerto base, el Port del Masnou. Hicimos escala en San Antoni (Ibiza), Benalmádena (Málaga), Lanzarote (Islas Canarias), Las Palmas de Gran Canaria y atravesamos en diciembre el Atlántico beneficiándonos de los alisios para llegar a Martinica (Caribe francés) el 8 de enero de 2013 por la mañana, completando así la primera etapa de este viaje.
