The biennial Rolex Fastnet Race is one of sailing’s ultimate challenges. Over the 605 nautical mile course, crews face a severe test of their endurance and sailing prowess as they race across the English Channel and Celtic Sea, before turning at the mythical Fastnet Rock and heading back eastwards to the finish line in Plymouth. Almost a total rebuild and restoration and thoroughly modern systems make SWANILDA a very usable classic. Indeed, following her 2010-2012 reconstruction her design and condition now should allow ocean passages as well as summer #cruises and #classic races. A recent topsides repaint and mast and spars refinishing at Elephant #boatyard leaves this very English lady looking very smart.
